Complex Behaviour Support Program

Provided by: The Children's Foundation

Service Description

A support program responding to the needs of children and youth up to age 18 living with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) or complex developmental behavioural conditions (CDBC), as well as their families. Services are strengths-based and place families at the centre to ensure that supports are collaborative, culturally sensitive, individualistic, flexible, engaging, evidence-based, and meaningful. Services are provided on and off site. Supports consist of coordination of services from multiple sources, linking and brokering of resources, educational support groups for parents and for children and youth, information and referral, community presentations, intervention regarding problem behaviours, parent-to-parent self-help initiatives, and outreach support to children, youth, and families. Referrals are accepted from parents, schools, social workers, health professionals and other community agencies. Serves families living in the city of Vancouver whose children and youth have a diagnosis of FASD or CDBC, or are in the process of receiving one.
