Culturally and Religiously Sensitive Casework and Counselling Services

Service Description

Provides remote Canada-wide casework services to Muslim women and children experiencing trauma due to issues such as poverty, homelessness, gendered-based violence, intimate partner violence (IPV), and immigration/refugee status. Clients are matched with a caseworker who supports them one-to-one by providing culturally and religiously sensitive services. Caseworkers support clients with finding shelter (free emergency hotel/motel placements, long term housing options), education, life skills, essentials, medical support, employment, financial assistance, reconciliation services, food scarcity, mental health, safety and sustainability planning, legal support. In addition to working on a safety/goal plan, clients also receive a one-to-one certified counsellor. Though the program provides culturally and religiously sensitive services for Muslim communities, no client is ever turned away, regardless of background. Service is available in English, French, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Punjabi, Farsi, Dari, Gujarati. Office hours are 6 am to 4 pm daily.
