Oversees parks, recreational facilities, heritage sites, museums, and cultural facilities and programs in Surrey. Indoor facilities include gymnasiums, ice rinks, swimming pools, wave pool, fitness centres, dance studios, multipurpose rooms, preschools, child care centres, youth lounges, senior centres, art centre, theatres, historic farm, computer-based art tech lab, and gift shop and art rental. Outdoor amenities include track and sports fields, trails, playgrounds, water parks, and skateboard bowl/parks. Operates the Bear Creek Outdoor Pool, Bear Creek Pavilion, Bridgeview Community Centre, Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre, Clayton Community Centre, Clayton Hall, Cloverdale Arena, Cloverdale Recreation Centre, Don Christian Recreation Centre, Elgin Hall Facility, Fleetwood Community Centre, Fraser Heights Recreation Centre, Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre, Greenaway Outdoor Pool, Guildford Recreation Centre, Historic Stewart Farm, Hjorth Road Outdoor Pool, Holly Outdoor Pool, Kensington Prairie Community Centre, Kwantlen Outdoor Pool, Kwomais Lodge and Sanford Hall, Museum of Surrey, Newton Arena, Newton Recreation Centre, Newton Seniors Centre, North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex, Port Kells Outdoor Pool, South Surrey Arena, South Surrey Indoor Pool, South Surrey Recreation and Arts Centre, Sunnyside Hall Facility, Sunnyside Outdoor Pool, Surrey Archives, Surrey Art Gallery, Surrey Civic Theatres, Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex, and Unwin Outdoor Pool. Offers a wide variety of recreational, social, and cultural programs, for all ages and abilities including children, youth, families, seniors, and people with disabilities. Offers financial assistance and grants for recreation such as the Leisure Access Program provided for low income residents; the Honey Hooser Scholarship offers 500$ for a graduating post-secondary student with an interest in art; the Cultural Grants Program, which supports a wide range of arts and cultural activity; and the Community Grants Program, which is designed to support nonprofit groups. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
