Dental Clinic

Provided by: Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society (VAHS)

Service Description

Provides low-cost dental services; everyone in the Lower Mainland is welcome, but the focus is on serving Downtown Eastside residents, Indigenous people with status card, people on disability and income assistance, individuals on parole, refugees, and people with dental emergencies with or without dental coverage. Services include dental exams, cancer screening, x-rays, prescriptions, dental fillings, and simple dental extractions. Services offered by appointment (once initial exam is completed) include cleanings, complicated extractions, major surgical treatments, and root canals. If the patient has coverage, they are asked to bring valid proof of ID such as a Status Card, Personal Health Number, insurance card, or parole number. If the patient doesn't have coverage, cost is based on an internal fee guide, which is lower than the Ministry fee guide (no exceptions or additional discounts). Hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday; by appointment only. Services offered by dental professionals who volunteer their time. Wheelchair accessible.
