Developmental Disabilities Mental Health Services - Burnaby

Service Description

Provides specialized mental health services for individuals ages 12 and over who live with co-existing developmental disabilities and a mental illness; individuals may also struggle with behavioural challenges that are influenced by the mental illness and developmental disability. Services include psychiatric assessment and treatment, behavioural services, counselling services, and educational services. Works in collaboration with existing community resources and support networks. Serves individuals with an intellectual disability (IQ of 70 or below) that must have developed before the age of 18. For adults, accepts self referrals and health professional referrals; for youth, referral required from Child and Youth with Support Needs, Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). Serves residents of Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health regions. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
