Diabetes Camps (D-Camps)

Organizes summer camps designed to give children and youth living with type 1 diabetes the opportunity to experience camp. In BC, Camp Kakhamela takes place at Camp Elphinstone near Gibsons. Medical staff and trained volunteers interact with campers in a non-clinical setting and help campers learn how to live well with diabetes. Also holds family camps for the whole family (parents, siblings, and children with diabetes) on Gibsons and Quadra Island. Camperships (subsidy support) available. Open to individuals and families from across Canada.
