Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program

Provided by: First Nations Health Authority (FNHA)

Service Description

Provides grants up to a maximum of $1,200 to cover birth doula and postpartum doula services for pregnant or new Indigenous families living on- or off-reserve in BC. Applicants must be of Indigenous descent (status or non-status First Nations, Metis, and/or Inuit); either the birthing person or their partner (if applicable) may apply. Aims to increase healthy birth outcomes for Indigenous families by removing cost barriers to doula services. Payment is made directly to a doula after pre-approval. Provided in partnership with the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (BCAAFC) and BC Ministry of Health.
