Service Description

Online registry for Early Childhood Educators (ECE) and ECE Assistants. To work as an ECE or ECE Assistant in a licensed child care facility in BC, one must be certified by the ECE Registry. Provides information about the provincial requirements for Early Childhood Educator (ECE) and ECE Assistant certification. In addition to clarifying application requirements, the website includes updated and enhanced information about: legal requirements and standards (occupational competencies) that govern the practice of certified ECEs and ECE Assistants in British Columbia; how the Registry responds to and investigates complaints regarding the practice of certified ECEs and ECE Assistants; how to request reconsideration (dispute) of a decision made by the ECE Registry (such as a decision to deny an application for certification, or to attach terms and conditions, suspend, or cancel a certificate).
