Service Description

Offers free one-stop access to information, referral, and support services for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal families with children from birth to age six in the Saik'uz (Vanderhoof) area. Provides a range of support services related to child development, early learning programs, and child care, including home visits, literacy programming, developmental assessment, and parenting education programs. Also offers a free drop-in Gym Time program and a Toy Lending Library located in the the basement of Glad Tidings Tabernacle (2709 Burrard Street). Operates a part-time Pre-school program for children ages three to four, with a monthly fee. Getting Ready for Kindergarten assists children in developing the skills they need to be ready for school. Works with early childhood service providers to plan and deliver a more accessible, responsive, and coordinated range of services for families with young children. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
