Service Description

Youth employment centre for job seekers ages 16 to 30 provides a range of free employment services and programs. Services include workshops, one-to-one-career support, access to funding for training, personalized resume and cover letter review, job search tools, career exploration, employment planning, interview practice, job placement services, job fairs, and more. YWCA Accelerate supports Vancouver youth ages 15 to 30 to find meaningful work in administration and customer service; includes paid skills training, work experience, completion bonus, follow-up supports, and professional certifications. Hybrid online and in-person delivery. Funded in part by Government of Canada. YWCA Gear Up equips youth ages 15 to 30 with the skills, certification, and employer connections neessary to work as a bike mechanic; program includes in-class skills development, work experience, and job search support. YWCA Strive is a holistic life and employability skills training program for Greater Vancouver youth ages 17 to 24 who are transitioning or have transitioned out of foster care. Hybrid online and in-person delivery. Funded by the Government of Canada and the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (MSDPR). YWCA Off the Leash is an online program that prepares job seekers ages 15 to 30 for entry level careers in the pet and animal care industry; includes skills training, work experience, completion bonus, follow-up supports, and professional certifications.
