Service Description

Free six- to eight-week program for adults who have experienced violence, abuse, or trauma and are looking to find employment in the childcare sector. Aims to empower people while they gain employment skills by providing training to work in child care settings, assisting with finding and maintaining employment, and promoting peer support. Online classroom training covers health and wellness, leadership in the workplace, job search skills, and resumes. There are four weeks of unpaid work experience placement, although there is financial assistance and training allowance available for program participation. Participants receive certifications upon completion of the program. Partnership program with Vancouver Eastside Educational Enrichment Society (VEEES). Program hours vary; office hours are 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. Funding provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada-British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement.
