Family Alcohol and Drug Program (FADP)

Service Description

Provides a seven- to eight-week family residential addiction treatment program, primarily for members of the 15 Bands in the area, but open to any Indigenous people in BC and the Yukon. Accepts couples with children and mothers with children. Services include a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school, and a daycare for children birth to age four. During the day, adults attend group sessions on a variety of topics including communication, self esteem, gambling, nutrition, anger management, and more. Also offers cultural components and fitness opportunities. Non-smoking facility. Medications that are not permitted during treatment include psychostimulants, certain opioids such as codeine, and sedative hypnotics such as benzodiazepines. Accepts people on opioid substitution medication. No fees charged. Referral required from primary care provider or addictions counsellor in BC. Facility is wheelchair accessible. Funded by the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) as a National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP).
