Family Justice Distance Services

Provided by: Ministry of Attorney General

Service Description

Provides family justice distance services to all British Columbians who are going through a separation or divorce. Family justice counsellors are accredited family mediators who provide dispute resolution services to help families resolve disagreements about parenting arrangements, contact with a child, guardianship, and support issues, without going to court. Services include information, short-term counselling, mediation, and referrals to community services. The service is through telephone and video conferencing, so services are available even if there is no Family Justice Centre or Justice Access Centre in the community. Also available to parties who are separated by distance. Service is free and confidential. Contact Service BC from 7:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and ask to be forwarded to the remote service.
