Family Support Services - Barriere

Offers a wide range of support services to families with children age 18 and under. Services include parenting support, parent-teen mediation, family intervention, and services to parents of children or youth with diverse-abilities. Provides life skills training and transition services to youth approaching age 19. Youth workers offer guidance in areas such as self-esteem, peer pressure, bullying, and improving communication skills. Some services require a referral from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). Funded by MCFD. Serves Barriere, Darfield, Louis Creek, and McLure. Office hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday; hours may vary.
