FASD and Key Worker Support Services

Service Description

Provides support to families residing in Burnaby who have children and youth up to age 19 with complex developmental behavioural conditions (CDBC), including fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). Key worker support services include training, education, and hands-on work groups for parents/caregivers; networking opportunities for parents and caregivers; skill building for children and youth; short-term consultations; three-month check-ins; activity evenings; training and education for school personnel if requested; and information and resources. Service is offered in Burnaby in a variety of locations, including home or school facilities via a mix of in person, videoconferencing, phone, and email. Service hours are from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday; family appointments, interagency meetings, group sessions, and special events may be scheduled outside these hours.
