Service Description

Provides legal advocacy to low-income and vulnerable people living in the Downtown Eastside. Provides legal assistance in the areas of tenancy, income assistance, disability, Employment Insurance, old age pensions, and various administrative legal matters. Also provides representation at the Residential Tenancy Branch, Employment and Assistance Appeal Tribunals, and the Social Security Tribunal. Intake is phone or email. Limited in-person intake can be done for urgent issues (eviction or loss of income) if unable to contact the agency by phone or email. Hours are 9 am to 11 am Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. Capacity is limited, so clients should arrive early and bring paperwork related to the issue.
