Service Description

Provides a range of wellness services for young people ages 12 to 24 and their families. Offers youth peer support by young adults with lived experience navigating the health and wellness systems. Through Mental Health Intake, clinicians do assessments and provide support to access mental health and substance use treatment in Richmond. Drop-in Counselling offers single-session counselling to young people, as well as to caregivers of youth between the ages of 12 and 24. Appointment required, and may be booked by phone or in person. Service can be used more than once, but doesn't provide ongoing therapy with the same counsellor. Counselling hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 10 am to 4 pm Fridays. A Parent Peer Support Worker provides emotional support, system navigation, and information and resources to parents who are parenting a youth with mental health and/or substance use challenges. Service offered in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (amy.tam@familysmart.ca or 604-878-3400). Foundry Works is a supported employment and education program for youth ages 15 to 24 who are experiencing multiple barriers to working, going to school, or completing a training program; helps youth build the skills and experiences they need to achieve their goals. Sexual health services are through the VCH youth clinic; see separate listing. Office hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:30 am to 4 pm Fridays.
