Service Description

Provides modest-income families with access to grants for up to $3,200 for their children's post-secondary education by opening a no-fee Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP). Assists clients through every step of the registration process, removing any barriers that may be preventing them from accessing grants. If needed, assists clients to obtain required documentation and covers costs for obtaining documentation (filing taxes, obtaining birth certificates or identification). To be eligible for the Canada Learning Bond, children must have been born in 2004 or later, and families with one to three children must have a net income under $47,630. The Canada Learning Bond provides an initial $500 in the RESP, and $100 a year until age 15. To be eligible for the BC Training and Education Savings Grant, children must have been born in 2006 or later, reside in BC, and be between the ages of six and eight. BCTESG provides a one-time payment of $1,200. Apply online or contact the office.
