Service Description

Provides free outreach support and counselling services to all BC residents, regardless of age. Outreach support workers and counsellors work with clients to reduce the risks and harms associated with their gambling, and also work with those affected by another's gambling behaviour to help reduce harms. All outreach support workers and counsellors have specialized training in addressing problematic gambling. BC residents can call the Gambling Support Line for information and referrals to free outreach support for help developing a plan for managing gambling harms, including a referral to counselling if desired. Eligibility for program support is not dependent on the caller committing to an abstinence approach as the program is harm reduction focused. Gambling Support Line assistance is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week; residents can also request support using the online intake form. Counsellors can provide service in English, Punjabi, Cantonese, and Mandarin; free professional interpretation services are available as needed. Program hours are flexible according to individual needs.
