Gambling Support BC - Relapse Prevention Program

Provided by: Ministry of Attorney General

Service Description

Free relapse prevention program for individuals with a gambling problem who are facing bankruptcy. Provides a minimum of two counselling support sessions and two sessions with a gambling outreach support worker. Helps individuals learn about available resources for managing gambling behaviours, triggers, stress, and emotions and develop a relapse prevention plan. Recommends that trustees wanting this program for their clients suggest it to them early in the bankruptcy process, so clients can get full benefit from the support. After completion of the required sessions, individuals receive a signed confirmation letter of completion that they can give to their trustee as part of the conditions met to be discharged from bankruptcy. To sign up, or for other information about supports to manage gambling harms, contact the BC Gambling Support Line, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
