Gang Exiting and Outreach Program

Service Description

Uses an integrated case management approach to provide exiting supports to adult gang members in Metro Vancouver ages 18 and older, while also providing outreach and supports to gang members' family, friends, and communities. Services include counselling to target underlying cognitive and behavioural issues (such as substance use and violence); skills training, education, and/or employment supports to identify an alternate positive life path; and ongoing and practical supports to help address longer-term concerns related to housing, banking, and criminal justice system involvement. Provided in partnership with Community Safety and Crime Prevention Branch and Policing and Security Branch of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, RCMP, City of Surrey, and Surrey School District.
