Gateway Men's Recovery Program

Six-month or two-year residential alcohol and drug recovery program for 61 men (cisgender and transgender) ages 19 and over who want support. Offers individual and group counselling, recovery coaching, recovery plan support, psycho-educational classes, life skills development, anger management, stress management, appropriate physical fitness, educational upgrading, and employment counselling and related services. The program supports clients in choosing which recovery pathway is right for them within an abstinence-focused program. Part of the two-year program offers a second-stage program that primarily focuses on relapse prevention planning through coaching. Oriented toward a Christian world view, and open to all. currently accepts men who receive Sublocade injections. In month five of program, men can return to work on a part-time basis to receive support as they return to work. After six months of program have been complete, men can return to work on a full-time basis with continued recovery support by a recovery coach. Accepts referral from self or other. Service is provided in English; no access to interpretation. Applications can be submitted with the Gateway team or directly filled out and via website. Intake interviews are done weekly. Fee is based on income, up to $550 per month. Wheelchair accessible.
