Greater Victoria Housing Security and Rent Bank Program

Service Description
Provides short-term financial help for low-to-moderate income households at risk of losing their housing due to a temporary financial crisis. Must be 19 years of age or older and a resident of Greater Victoria (or a resident moving to Greater Victoria). Small, interest-free loans are available to eligible renters who have the ability to repay the loans over a six-to 24-month period. Loans may be used for rental arrears, next month's rent, overdue essential utilities, moving expenses, security deposits or first month's rent to secure housing. Call for more information or fill out an online pre-assessment form to begin the application process. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday; emails and phone calls will be returned during these hours. Please call ahead for in-person meetings to ensure the availability of a Rent Bank Program staff person. Funded by the BC Rent Bank.
