Service Description

Offers a variety of educational and support groups at Family Services of the North Shore (FSNS) office and other locations. Women and Anger is an eight- to 10-week group for women to explore their relationship with anger. Grief Support Group provides support for individuals who have experienced loss; pre-register by contacting 604-985-8713 or quenneville@familyservices.bc.ca. Caring Dads Group focuses on engaging men, building positive parenting, recognizing and countering abuse, and rebuilding trust with children. Breastfeeding and Postpartum Group is open to all parents to find success in breastfeeding and to discuss with and support each other in new-parenting challenges. Parent-Child Mother Goose is a participatory eight- to 10-week group experience incorporating songs, rhymes, and stories to help parents connect and respond to their children's feelings and attempts to communicate. Rebuilding Relationships in Farsi is for Farsi-speaking men who want to eliminate their abusive behaviour in relationships. Rebuilding Relationships is open for all men who want to eliminate their abuse behaviour in relationships. All groups are free of charge, but require pre-registration by emailing or calling the intake contact unless otherwise specified. Groups may be offered in different languages. Interpretation service may also be available through relationship with local multicultural agency.
