Harbour Light Residential Addiction Treatment Program

Service Description

A 50-bed residential treatment facility that serves men 19 years and over who have a substance addiction. Phase 1 is a 90-day residential treatment program; accepts self-referrals. The full-time program is based on 12-step programs. It includes individual and group counselling, lectures, life skills training, and a spiritual program. Attendance at outside support group meetings is encouraged to foster connections in the community. Medical assistance can be arranged. Accepts men on methadone maintenance; however, clients are not permitted to taper in Phase 1. Phase 2 is an eight-week, full-time, residential re-entry and living skills program for men who have completed Phase 1 at Harbour Light. It includes life skills training, individual and group counselling, peer support, and alumni meetings. This phase allows for school attendance and participation in a volunteer work experience program. Phase 3 is a supportive residential program open to men who have completed Phase 1 and 2 at Harbour Light. Services include housing and meals. Clients continue with counselling to assist in the development of an exit plan. Clients are required to participate in group meetings and outside 12-step meetings. Tapering of methadone maintenance can be discussed in Phase 2 or 3 with the counsellor, doctor, and client. Does not have access to a language interpretation service. Wheelchair accessible.
