Homelessness Prevention Program

Service Description

Provides services to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, in particular women who have experienced violence or are at risk of violence; also considers youth transitioning out of foster care, individuals of Indigenous descent, and individuals leaving the correctional or hospital systems. Provides one-on-one support to access rental housing in the private market, referrals to housing options, information on other housing subsidies, and housing search assistance. Also provides rental supplements, as well as other supplements to assist with housing start-up costs or damage deposits. Program is meant to last no more than one year. Referral typically through transition houses or domestic violence workers. Funded by BC Housing, and through the Canada-BC Investment in Affordable Housing.
