Service Description

Addresses health and wellness concerns and encourages healing by reconnecting First Nations people in the Downtown Eastside to traditional, spiritual, and cultural practices. Advocates for the visibility of Aboriginal health issues and educates service providers about Indigenous cultural traditions. Connects community members to resources and offers a place to develop wellness plans. Services include weekly talking circles, drumming, smudging, traditional dance, drum making, sweat lodges, and workshops. Culture Saves Lives is an awareness and direct action campaign to reconnect all people with their culture, especially First Nations people oppressed by colonization. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.
