Intensive Family Preservation Services

Offers crisis intervention and family counselling to keep children and families safe and prevent unnecessary out of home placement for children. Serves Prince George families with children who are at an imminent risk of placement outside the home. Crisis intervention is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Counselling includes motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioural strategies, and parenting skills training. Services typically offered for four weeks, and are delivered in the home or in the community. Follow-up is available. Referrals are from Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) social workers. Funded by MCFD.
