Service Description

Job readiness and essential skills training programs for eligible youth with disabilities, also provides programs fo adults with disabilities; program targets training to meet high-demand occupations in hospitality, retail, and tourism; security; and social services. Those applying for the youth program must be 15 to 29 years of age (except 19 for the security program), legally able to work in Canada, and unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week as well as not be a full-time student, and not been eligible to receive employment insurance in the last three years or received paternity employment insurance in the last five years. Youth must also identify as having a physical, cognitive, mental health, sensory, or development disability that affects finding and maintaining work. Program hours are 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Thursday for seven weeks; office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (MSDPR) as a WorkBC Employment Services and Supports (ESS) Program.
