Service Description

Job readiness and essential skills training program for eligible individuals. Program targets training to meet high-demand occupations in hospitality and retail, as a trades assistant, and working with children. Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada, unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week as well as not be a full-time student, and not been eligible to receive employment insurance in the last three years or received paternity employment insurance in the last five years. Priority will be given to equity-seeking populations, including Indigenous persons, youth, people with disabilities, recent immigrants, and those facing multiple barriers to employment. Serves Sechelt and Gibsons. Program hours are 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Thursday for seven weeks; office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (MSDPR) as a WorkBC Employment Services and Supports (ESS) Program.
