Katherine's House

Provides safe, secure, low-barrier, transitional housing and support for self-identified women with or without children, who are fleeing violent relationships, are at risk of abuse, threats, or violence, and/or women who are at risk of homelessness. Accepts male children up to age 18. Accepts refugees and refugee claimants, and women from out of the province. Length of stay is up to six months. Provides women access to daily living requirements such as clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and staple groceries to prepare their own meals. Also provides accompaniment, advocacy support, and assistance in accessing financial assistance, legal aid, and affordable housing. Offers resource information to enable women to explore their options, define their goals, and develop safety plans. Personal identification (ID) not required; will support to acquire ID. Not wheelchair accessible. Cannot accommodate pets. Funded by BC Housing.
