Service Description

Lunch program for Jewish seniors promotes socialization and education, allowing Jewish seniors to come together in a relaxed manner; open to all. Offered 10 am to 2 pm Mondays (except holidays) from June to September at Beth Tikvah Synagogue (9711 Geal Road). Activities include a kosher meal (12 noon to 1 pm) followed by a social educational program with music, health-related topics, trivia and games, or holiday-specific programming (1 pm to 2 pm). On the third Monday of the month, a wellness clinic offers opportunities for participants to have blood pressure taken, speak to a nurse or outreach worker, and partake in other services such as reflexology. A free bus service is available to pick up and drop off seniors. Cost is $10; subsidies are available. Serves seniors from Richmond and nearby areas. Delivered in partnership with Chabad Richmond, City of Richmond, Richmond Jewish Day School, Beth Tikvah Synagogue, and Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver.
