Service Description

Assists in the settlement of union-management disputes. Offers mediation when union and management of a company are unable to negotiate a collective agreement. If a dispute appears to be placing the public interest in jeopardy, the Minister may appoint a mediator to assist the parties in resolving their differences. Offers information and statistics relating to labour relations, employment, and collective bargaining. Also offers a Relationship Enhancement Program intended for employers and unions who are experiencing difficulties in their ongoing relationship and who are interested in establishing and maintaining a more productive and positive relationship. Focuses on the specific issues and concerns associated with the parties' current relationship and on establishing mutually agreeable and achievable steps for improvement. Office hours (hearings and reception) are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Filing hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
