Service Description

The Community Adult Literacy Program (CALP) connects adults 19 years of age or older who want to improve their literacy skills with trained adult volunteer tutors. Tutors and learners are paired and meet one-on-one at a mutually arranged time for about two hours per week in a public place such as a library. Learners receive individualized tutoring specific to their needs. Emphasis is given to reading, writing, speaking, listening, math, and computer skills. Offered in partnership with Surrey Public Libraries, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University; serves Surrey. Funded by Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.
