Service Description

Offers 44 units of temporary housing with 24/7 support for women in Surrey experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness, and/or who are struggling with substance use. Open to cis, transgender, and two-spirit women. This is a reduced-use facility; it does not have an overdose prevention site, but will provide harm reduction supplies. Each unit has its own bed, washroom, cooktop, air conditioning, heater, fridge, television with basic cable, WIFI, and table and chairs. Lunch is provided Monday to Friday and there is a communal kitchen. Length of stay is indeterminate which allows women to depart at any time. Rent is $375 if on income assistance, 30 percent of monthly income if on OAP/CPP or working fulltime. Several units are wheelchair accessible. Accepts pets. To apply for residency, outreach teams must respond with the woman's vulnerability assessment and an advocacy letter when a call-out is made by BC housing that a unit has become available. Funding provided by the federal, provincial, and municipal governments with support from the capital funder, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
