Maxxine Wright Community Health Centre
Supports women who are pregnant or have a child under six months old and are impacted by substance use and/or violence and abuse. Women do not need to have their children in their care to receive support, provided there is an ongoing relationship with the child. Once a woman has completed intake, the Centre can potentially work with her until her youngest child turns four years old. Support services include information and referral, advocacy, parenting program, outreach, and help with housing, income assistance, and forms. Offers a daily hot lunch program, clothing, housewares, food, and baby items. Provides medical and nursing care, dental hygienist, alcohol and drug counselling, and access to a social worker. Provides a methadone treatment program through Fraser Health. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Drop in hours are 11 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Most services are available on a drop-in basis. Intake for services takes place during drop-in hours from Tuesday to Friday or by appointment; intakes are not completed on Mondays.
