Medical Accompaniment and Casework

Provides free translation support for medical appointments and case management to support seniors in meeting their basic needs. Also assists with applications for government and other subsidies; referral to healthcare professionals; referral to the Better at Home Program; and basic housing issues such as handling eviction notices and explaining options for housing or nursing homes. Staff are able to communicate in Cantonese and Mandarin. Serves residents of the Downtown Eastside, Chinatown, and Strathcona area. Limited free information and referral services are available to residents of Grandview-Woodland area (as far east as Nanaimo Street).
