Mental Health and Substance Use Wellness Centre

Offers 75-bed urgent care support for individuals who are experiencing mental health and substance use concerns, who voluntarily seek and require urgent care, but do not require hospitalization. Services include crisis support, psychiatric consultation for medication options, short term counselling, connection to community-based services, and opiate agonist therapy. Acts as a centralized intake and assessment for outpatient mental health supports within New Westminster and the Tri-Cities. Outpatient services include a mood disorders clinic to support individuals with anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder; a reproductive psychiatry clinic for women and their families who need support with mental health concerns related to pregnancy or post-partum; an adolescent psychiatry clinic for youth ages 13 to 17 diagnosed with mood disorders or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); an addictions medicine and substance use clinic; a group therapy clinic to provide support and education for patients; a neuropsychology clinic for people needing specialized cognitive testing and assessment; and an electroconvulsive therapy clinic. Referrals accepted through the hospital, a mental health and substance use centre, or a family physician. Centre hours are 8:30 am to 8:30 pm Monday to Friday.
