Service Description

Provides culturally sensitive outreach education services for First Nations youth and adults in Northern BC. Presentations are available on a range of justice issues, including introduction to court practices and the law, restorative justice, comparison of traditional First Nations and current justice practices, and cultural sensitization for justice system personnel. Through the Native Courtlink Program, provides youth education about racism, attitudes towards the police and justice system, auto crime prevention, and property crime; teacher's guides are included. The Native Youth-at-Risk Courtlink Program addresses the justice-related issues of youth who are at risk for trouble with the law, school dropout, and/or substance use. Some programs are free and some are on a fee-for-service basis.
