Service Description

Supports individuals and community organizations through outreach visits and in the centre by directing clients to free tax clinics; answering questions and distributing information related to benefits and credits; promoting the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP); and helping clients access digital services, including obtaining an access code and registering for My Account, and submitting documents online. Helps small businesses and self-employed individuals meet their tax obligations by answering tax-related questions, providing information on CRA tools and services, and by providing on-site books/records reviews and recommendations on how to strengthen bookkeeping systems. CRA agents cannot complete income tax and benefit returns and forms; accept payments; receive and send mail, returns, documentation, or forms; provide bulk printout requests to tax practitioners or specialists; or provide Problem Resolution Program (PRP) services. There is no walk-in counter service offered in Northern Service Centres; the Service Canada Centre located in the same building is the primary point of contact for individuals seeking CRA-related guidance. CRA officers travel regularly to communities within the Territory throughout the year. Service hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
