Service Description

Provides legal advice and support related to poverty, domestic violence, and crisis prevention. Areas of service include assistance with benefits, credits, and subsidies; tenancy-related issues; employment law and worker's rights; consumer law; debt issues; Indigenous law; civil tribunal resolution; safety planning and case management for women affected by domestic abuse; transitional support; personal identification clinics; and income tax clinics for simple tax returns. Representation may be available for Residential Tenancy Branch dispute resolution, Employment Standards Branch complaint proceedings and appeals, and a variety of Indigenous issues including Indian Status applications, health benefits, band membership, and housing. Also provides information and referrals to community resources. Referral from self or other. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; 9 am to 7 pm Tuesdays; and 10 am to 2 pm Saturdays.
