Parenting Through the Child's Eyes

Service Description

Facilitates free group sessions for parents of children up to age five, especially parents who are young, single, socially or geographically isolated, and/or have low income or limited formal education; group is based on child development and connection parenting. Sessions run for two hours a week for six to eight weeks. Provides a safe place for parents to build on their parenting skills, an opportunity to learn new skills and concepts, and a place to interact with other parents who have young children. Aims to improve parents' self-esteem and coping skills, increase self-help and mutual support, connect parents with community services and resources, and prevent family violence. Only offered in English. Registration is required. Funded by Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) as a Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program.
