Service Description

Oversees parks, recreational services, and heritage sites in Coquitlam. Community and recreation centres offer a wide range of facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spray parks, fitness centres, multipurpose rooms, racquet courts, tennis courts, picketball courts, ice rinks, trails, youth centres, and seniors centres. Offers recreation, social, and cultural programs for all ages and abilities, including children, youth, families, seniors, and people with disabilities; programs offerings vary from centre to centre, and some are seasonable programs. Centres include Centennial Activity Centre, Centennial Pavilion, City Centre Aquatic Complex, Dogwood Pavilion, Getaway Youth Centre, Glen Pine Pavilion, Maillardville Community Centre, Pinetree Community Centre, Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex, Poirier Community Centre, Smiling Creek Activity Centre, Summit Community Centre, and Victoria Community Hall. Many of the centres' facilities, such as meeting rooms, are available for rent. Financial Assistance for Recreation (FAR) is available to eligible Coquitlam residents; applications are online. Grade 5 Get Active! Pass and Grade 6 Stay Active! Pass provide free admission to drop-in activities during the school year. Phone line hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, except statutory holidays.
