Provides financial assistance for services related to an adopted child or youth's special placement needs, including counselling, health assessments, special needs child care, corrective dental and orthotics, respite care, tutoring, homemakers, as well as speech, physiotherapy, or occupational therapy. Eligibility is based on family's assets, and the services must not be covered by the parents' extended medical plans. Adoptive parents can apply for financial support only with the assistance of their Adoption Social Worker, accessed through a local MCFD office.
