Service Description

Through home visiting and education services, provides a range of services that help build parental capacity to support the healthy development of children from pregnancy to six years of age, and to prevent child abuse and/or neglect. Offers prenatal instruction, pregnancy outreach, home visits, and parenting training and support. May provide transportation and support to attend community parent-child programs. Provides prenatal vitamins and weekly food vouchers to low-income pregnant and breastfeeding women. Referral accepted from self or other. Serves Barriere and area (Darfield, Louis Creek, and McLure). Office hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 3:30 pm Fridays. Funded by Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
