Service Description

Aims to collaborate with school districts in meeting the needs of all Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. Provides observational and standardized assessments, program development, inclusion and transition support, student leadership and events, mentorship, professional development, and a Provincial Resource Lending Library. Offers the BC Provincial School for the Deaf - Elementary Program, which assists students in Kindergarten to Grade 7 to use American Sign Language as the language of instruction. Also offers the BC Provincial School for the Deaf - Secondary Program, which assists students in Grade 8 to 12 use American Sign Language as the language of instruction. In addition, the Provincial Oral Program, are for secondary students who prefer auditory/oral communication and to make maximum use of their residual hearing. Operated by the Burnaby School Board.
