Service Description

Provides books in Braille and large print for students who are visually impaired in schools across BC and the Yukon. Students must be attending school, and must fulfill program criteria regarding degree of disability. Program can be accessed through the vision teacher associated with each school district. Also operates the Accessible Resource Centre (ARC) to provide digital alternate format materials based on the Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum for students and educators. Access to the centre can be given to students on behalf of their educator; educator must be registered or an approved user. Hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Administered by Vancouver School Board; funded by Ministry of Education and Child Care.
