Designated agency responsible for looking into situations of abuse or suspected abuse, neglect, and self-neglect involving adults unable to seek support and assistance on their own due to restraint, physical or mental limitation, illness, disease, injury, or other condition that affects their ability to make decisions. Specially trained staff in hospitals and community programs respond to and investigate reports of possible abuse, neglect, and self-neglect of adults. Concerns can also be reported through Home Health intake (1-855-412-2121), local mental health offices, or unit social worker for adults currently in hospital. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
