Service Description

The Kidney Care Clinic provides services supporting prevention, health promotion, early detection, and management of kidney disease. Offers medical care, education and counselling. The Kidney Transplant Program provides pre-transplant referral and assessment services (for both patients awaiting transplants and potential kidney donors), transplant surgery, post-transplant care, as well as a variety of living donor programs. Dialysis services are provided by the In-Centre Hemodialysis Unit and the Peritoneal Dialysis Clinic. The Peritoneal Dialysis Clinic provides education programs to teach patients and/or their families how to perform peritoneal dialysis at home and provides ongoing support. The Post-Transplant Clinic provides follow-up care for all renal transplant patients. Clients must have a physician's referral to a nephrologist. The nephrologist will provide access to renal services.
