Restorative Justice Program

Provided by: Connective Support Society - Nanaimo

Service Description

Operated as an alternative to the criminal justice system, the restorative justice process makes offenders accountable for their actions while empowering victims by placing them in the centre of the justice process. The offender and victim are typically brought together in a forum where the victim is given the opportunity to express the harm caused by the actions of the offender. The victim has the opportunity to influence the resolution agreement that is reached at the conclusion of the forum. Referrals are received from RCMP, Crown Counsel, ICBC, or Nanaimo school district.
